I Grow… To make the world a better place one flower at a time.

Finish This Statement: I Grow…
To make the world a better place one flower at a time.

Personal Connection
My fascination with nature started by counting lady slippers with my grandma and picking raspberries with my mom. I have been an employee of Crystal Lake for 6 years. I love working with my family, plants, sunshine, and our great community of customers.

The ‘Grow’ Experience
More dirt under my fingernails equates to a happier Susie. I enjoy planting to help the bees, butterflies, ecosystem, and other humans & animals. I love learning the science of plants and how they work. I love the challenge of nurturing plants and the fulfillment of mastering a happy healthy plant.

Favorite Finds
Native plants : Echinacea, Asclepius /Milkweed (larval host plant for monarch)

Shade Plants : Escargot Begonia, Fragrant Falls Peach Begonias, Thunbergia ( Black Eyed Susan Vine), Hellebore ( Ivory Prince & Midnight), Mouse Ears Hosta, Boom Chocolate Cranesbill Geranium

Spring bulbs ( best gift after a New England winter): Akita Daffodil, Allium Gladiator, Queen of the Night and Parrot tulips<
Edibles: Sun sugar tomatoes, “mini me”cucumbers, and Thai basil

The more bizarre the plant, the more interested I am!

Garden Tips
Baby steps and never give up. Failure is how we learn. I have killed many orchids (I thank them for their sacrifice ) but I love the challenge of their delicate nature, it’s worth the effort for their rebloom!
